The magic chip

A thermoelectric chip cooler is a slim little device that cools by moving heat with electricity. It is constructed with special materials that develop a temperature difference when electricity passes through them. Consider it a sort of magic chip that whisks heat from one side to the other. This is because of something called the Peltier effect, where running an electric current through stuff makes it get hot (or cold) and that heat (cold) moves in a certain direction. On one side of the chip, heat is absorbed, which cools that side down; on the other, heat flows out and makes it warm.
